Lauren Davang, DVM

My name is Lauren Davang and I am a 2017 graduate of the Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine. I have been practicing equine medicine for the past 4 years. I am an avid barrel racer, a card holding member of the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association, and a Director for Gulf Coast Barrel Racing Association. My family and I moved to Wharton, TX in 2008 to pursue our dream of raising AQHA registered barrel racing prospects. I am married to my husband Mike; we don’t have any children but do have two dogs and three cats.

I enjoy all things equine but have a special interest in equine reproduction, mainly on mare management, artificial and deep horn insemination of fresh, cooled, and frozen semen, as well as embryo flushes. I also am trained to collect stallions and process semen for artificial insemination and for cooled shipped semen.

I also have a great interest in sports medicine and lameness, including pre purchase examinations, lameness examinations, diagnostic imaging, joint injections, and rehabilitation with my background with equine performance. I am well versed in equine emergency medicine, including the medical management of colics, laceration repairs, and other unique cases that emerge.
